Whether it's the courses, way of teaching, designs, inspiration or behind-the-scenes - I believe you should have fun whilst making, enjoying the process as well as the final result!

No teaching in the same old way for the sake of it. Pattern making doesn't have to be complex wizardry! I'll always break things down so they're fun and easy to understand.

I believe in more than just teaching techniques but instead inspiring you to use them in exciting ways and build your confidence when problem-solving and refining your designs!

There's so much joy to be had when you experiment, sample, try things out, get things wrong and learn from those mistakes! I'll always encourage you to do the same. In each course, there are try-it-yourself exercises to help guide you. And you'll learn how to continue this experimentation in your own work and designs!

During the act of sampling, you learn to innovate, slow down, enjoy the process and create unique designs.

Everyone is different, and there's no right or wrong way to get creative! There are so many different ways to get to the same outcome, so I always encourage you to find the best way for you.

I can't wait for you to discover your way in pattern making and to trust in it. We're all different, and our creative process can be too!

Creativity has the power to change your life.. or at least your day! I know it's changed mine. It's so important that everybody can learn, feel inspired and excited and put those ideas into action!

There's nothing better than the buzz of bringing a vision to life, getting lost in creativity or feeling so proud of something you've made. We shouldn't underestimate how powerful that can be, especially in our toughest times.

I believe everyone should be able to have access to wearing clothes that make them feel good.

I know how frustrating it can be when you can't find something that makes you feel amazing; I want to empower you with the skills to design your own world, build a wardrobe you love and have fun doing it.

I understand the ready-to-wear and sewing world isn't always inclusive, and I want to help try and change that! I'm always learning, and I'd love to hear from you on ways we can improve.

Our community is a judgement-free zone so ask away with all of your 'silly questions'.. because there's no such thing! If you're wondering it, I bet everyone else is too!? In fact, I encourage it, being curious is how we learn and grow.

When I first became a pattern maker, I had no one to ask or cheer me on and I'd be searching through pattern books, trying to find answers, when sometimes I just needed some reassurance that I was on the right track. So, this is why it's my mission to build a beautiful, supportive community. I love seeing all your design, inspiration images and hearing your questions!

This is an important one.. if a project is driving you crazy then take a break! It's so vital for the making process. A good cup of tea, or if it's late.. a good night's sleep, does wonders for the creative brain. Everything is always clearer after you've taken a step back. Leaving more room for all the sewing and pattern making goodness!
